The MIN Graduate Center (MINGZ)
MINGZ aims to provide optimal conditions for doctoral studies and a constant need-driven adaptation of the support for all doctoral researchers of the MIN faculty. For this reason, MINGZ offers all doctoral researchers a varied program of support measures. These include information and support services such as the MIN Doctoral gateway, counselling offered by our academic tutors, as well as various scholarships. At our international networking events, doctoral researchers have the opportunity to get information about topics related to their doctoral studies and career development, and to get to know their fellow researchers. The elected doctoral representatives represent the doctoral researchers in the board of MINGZ and are the central point of contact for the concerns of all doctoral researchers at the MIN Faculty. Within the framework of the doctoral mentoring project ProBe the environment for doctoral research at the faculty is being optimised through a set of helpful tools.
The MINGZ was founded in 2012 as an umbrella graduate school at faculty level in order to facilitate the cooperation of the different departments and graduate programs. Based on the faculty’s many years of experience in organizing structured doctoral education, MINGZ also serves as a central contact and provides existing programs with various services. Thus, MINGZ supports its members, that is, graduate schools and research areas that offer structured doctoral programs, in organising tasks that require teamwork. The performance records of the registered doctoral researchers are recorded in Geventis, so that a Transcript of Record can be issued after the completion of the doctoral degree.
