MIN Faculty in Figures
The MIN Faculty comprises the Departments of Biology, Chemistry, Earth System Sciences, Informatics, Mathematics, and Physics.
Around 8,500 students, of which 2,800 teacher students, 1,700 are doctoral students, are taught and supervised by some 200 professors and 370 postdoctoral research assistants.
The faculty currently comprises seven interdisciplinary research foci:
- Climate, Earth, Environment
- Particle, Astro- and Mathematical Physics
- Photon and Nanosciences
- Infection Research and Structural Biology
- Cognitive Systems
- Computing and Data Science
- Ecology and Biological Resources
The faculty is developing two potential areas:
- Information Governance Technologies
- Hybrids
and a transdisciplinary research field:
- Material Science
It participates across faculties in key research priorities of the university.
