MIN Graduate Center (MINGZ)
The MIN Graduate Center (MINGZ) is an institution within the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Natural Sciences. Our goal is to guarantee the high quality of doctoral education and to contribute to its continuous improvement. In close cooperation with the participating departments and research areas, we work to organise and further develop the structured doctoral program MIND (“MIN Doktorandenkolleg” - study regulations 2013 and 2021). Further, MINGZ offers a wide range of support measures and events open for all doctoral researchers of the MIN faculty.
These include travel grants and short-term stipends, counselling for newcomers, career and networking events and more. The MINGZ doctoral representatives are the main contacts for all concerns of doctoral researchers at MIN Faculty.
More about Geventis
Geventis is a platform that different institutions within the Universität Hamburg use to publish their courses. Courses targeting doctoral researchers in the fields of natural sciences, mathematics, and informatics can also be found in Geventis. Among and beyond these are courses offered by the MIN Graduate Center, by the HR Development department of the Universität Hamburg, University Language Center (Sprachenzentrum, SZ) and more. You can also apply for funding provided by MINGZ via Geventis. Find out more.
Moreover, MINGZ is an umbrella graduate school for currently eleven structured doctoral programs within different departments. To help members organise their respective structured doctoral programs, MINGZ runs the online platform Geventis.
Since 2019, the Joachim Herz Stiftung supports the MINGZ within the framework of the ProBe project, which aims at optimising supervision and career development for doctoral researchers at MIN Faculty.
