Counseling for Internationals
No matter whether you just arrived or are well on track of your doctoral studies, bureaucracy in Germany can be a challenge for foreigners. Since January 2015, academic tutors offer weekly consultations for international doctoral researchers on administrative issues or general questions about the life in Hamburg.
Weekly consultations for international doctoral researchers
We offer guidance for your first steps in Hamburg!
- What possibilities do I have to start my doctoral studies at the MIN Faculty of Universität Hamburg?
- How to finance my doctoral research?
- Who offers support?
- What are the first steps after my arrival in Hamburg?
- How do I enrol at Universität Hamburg?
You can contact our academic tutors Kathrin Böckmann and Artem Zaidman at any time sending an e-mail to tutor.min"AT"uni-hamburg.de. To schedule an appointment for virtual counselling via Zoom please contact us. The counselling occurs during the tutors’ office hours.
In case you have questions regarding admission to a doctorate please consider visiting the Min Doctorate Gateway.
Please note: If you have concerns not related to the questions above, we encourage you to also contact the MINGZ Doctoral Representatives.
Virtual counseling hours
Due to the spread of the coronavirus and the measures taken by the Universität Hamburg to prevent further infection, a personal consultation or telephone advice is unfortunately not possible until further notice.
