Postdoctoral Fellowships for Research in Japan (Summer Program)

Program duration: June 15–August 25, 2026
The program provides opportunities for young pre- and post-doctoral researchers from North America and Europe to receive an orientation on Japanese culture and Japanese language lessons and to pursue research under the guidance of host researchers at a Japanese university or research institute over a period of two months during the summer. JSPS accepts applications for the program via foreign nominating authorities.

NTU AI-for-X Postdoctoral Fellowship

The NTU AI-for-X Postdoctoral Fellowship (AI4X-PDF) is jointly supported by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) and Singapore’s National Research Foundation (NRF).
It provides up to four years of funding for outstanding scientists who harness Artificial Intelligence (AI) to accelerate breakthroughs across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics including medicine (STEM).
Applications can be submitted online until October 31, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Singapore time.

Annette Kade Postdoctoral Exchange Fellowship Program

The program is open to postdoctoral fellows or researchers with term-limited appointments at French or German institutions to undertake mentored research at the Richard Gilder Graduate School at the American Museum of Natural History (RGGS-AMNH). The research must be related to one (or more) of the research areas of the American Museum of Natural History.

German doctoral students who would like to carry out a four- to six-month research project in the USA starting from 1 August 2026 can apply to the "Fulbright Doktorand:innenprogramm".

Program Objective:
This program supports research stays abroad lasting from 1 to 12 months during a doctoral program in Germany. Stays can be split into different time periods and take place in various countries.
Duration of Funding: 1–12 months per grant
Scholarship Benefits (among others):
- Monthly scholarship rate (amount varies by host country)
- Travel allowance depending on the destination country
- Benefits for Health, accident, and personal liability insurance
- €102 per month for research and conference expenses
Application Periods:
October 1 – November 17, 2025 (selection in February, funding starts from May 2026)
February 1 – March 16, 2026 (selection in May/June, funding starts from September 2026)

MIN Graduate Center
The MIN Graduate Centre provides financial support to doctoral students of the MIN faculty for research stays abroad with a relevant connection to the doctoral topic for a maximum duration of two months. Financial support is also available for active participation in conferences abroad.

DAAD ERA Fellowships - Green Hydrogen
DAAD ERA Scholarship Program "Green Hydrogen"
Application deadline: any time
With the new scholarship program "ERA Future Scholarships - Green Hydrogen" of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the DAAD supports research on green hydrogen. The program enables German students to network with local and international scientists. By establishing four working groups, the DAAD is also promoting networking between science and industry. The program is aimed at Doctoral students who are interested in hydrogen research.
As socio-economic, ethical, legal and ecological issues relating to hydrogen are also to be addressed, applications from all scientific disciplines are welcome.

Hans Böckler Stiftung
The Hans Böckler Foundation supports international doctoral researchers from various disciplines, with a particular focus on applications from the Global South. The application deadlines are February 28th and June 30th each year.

This program supports active participation in international academic conferences and congresses abroad, both in-person and online.

Courses offered through the EUGLOH network
Through the EUGLOH network, doctoral reseachers have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of subject-specific and interdisciplinary courses offered by the partner universities, held online, in hybrid format, or on-site.
