More awareness in the MIN-faculty

As part of the Weeks for Diversity and Tolerance at UHH, the MIN faculty is offering three awareness workshops for students. On November 6, there will be an in-person workshop for those with prior knowledge. Additionally, on November 19 and 29, there will be three-hour online workshops for students who want to engage with awareness topics for the first time. Please note that the workshops will be conducted in German.

Workshop on the prevention of sexualized discrimination, harassment, and violence (SDBG) for professors of the MIN faculty. In a safe environment, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences in dealing with SDBG cases. The workshop will take place online on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 9:30-16:30 h.

On November 27 (10:00 - 11:30 AM), we will host Prof. Jana Lasser from the University of Graz. As part of the event "Pro Exzellenzia plus meets UHH," she will give an online presentation on abuse of power in academia. Please note that the presentation will be conducted in German. On November 26, the Abaton cinema will show the documentary "Picture a Scientist" (with original sound and subtitles) at 14:00 PM. The film features three female scientists sharing their experiences as women in science. There will be a discussion with the audience afterwards. The event requires a movie ticket purchase.

On December 3 at 13:30 h, the Abaton Cinema will be screening the film "Promising Young Woman." In this thriller, a young woman pretends to be drunk in order to take revenge on men who want to exploit her situation. The film provocatively addresses sexual assault and society's response to it. We would like to engage in a conversation with the audience afterwards. Admission to the event requires a ticket.
