Summer schools
Good reasons why Summer Schools are worthwhile for students
A summer school is an attractive alternative to a semester abroad if you are short of time and cannot fit a semester abroad into your study plans. A summer school is limited in time (generally up to 4 weeks) and offers students numerous advantages for their academic and personal development:
- In-depth subject knowledge: Those who take part in Summer Schools will not only have expanded their subject knowledge, but will also have gained insights into new subject areas.
- International experience: A summer school enables an exchange with students from all over the world, improving foreign language skills and strengthening intercultural competences.
- Networking: Students can make contacts with experts and international students and may initiate potential collaborations for the future.
- Promoting independence and initiative: Students have the opportunity to gain new perspectives and improve their soft skills such as teamwork.
- Career development: It is a great way to enhance your CV and specialize in areas relevant to the future. Participation in a summer school provides orientation for further study or career paths.
