18 June 2019, by MIN-Dekanat
From 17 to 20 June the 8th International Conference on Scanning Probe Spectroscopy - SPS'19 will take place in Hamburg, which was jointly organized by the Universität Hamburg and the Technische Universität Posen on the occasion of the joint 100th anniversary of both universities. The conference was opened by the Senator for Science, Research and Equality, Mrs. Katharina Fegebank, at a Senate reception.
High-ranking scientists from all over the world are expected to attend the Scanning Probe Spectroscopy (SPS) conference, which takes place every three years. The conference was organized by Prof. Dr. Roland Wiesendanger from the University of Hamburg and is dedicated to new methods for visualizing atomic structures of matter and their dynamics. A special focus this year is on the investigation of atomic magnets for more powerful magnetic data storage, new forms of superconductivity for loss-free current transport in future electronic devices and applications in quantum technology.
