Fulbright-Cottrell Award
Fulbright-Cottrell Awards for the Support of Integrated Teaching and Research Projects
The call for applications is aimed at early-career researchers in Germany with teaching responsibilities at the bachelor’s and master’s level in the fields of chemistry, physics, and astronomy.
With the Fulbright-Cottrell Award, Fulbright Germany recognizes outstanding research in combination with excellence in teaching. The award provides a one-time grant of €63,000. It is granted for a period of three years to selected early-career researchers who implement integrated teaching and research projects at their German university or research institution.
As part of the Fulbright-Cottrell Award, Fulbright Germany cooperates with the American Research Corporation for Science Advancement, which presents the well-known Cottrell Scholar Award in the United States. This collaboration opens access for Fulbright-Cottrell awardees to highly regarded transatlantic networks that support them in establishing themselves as successful “teacher-scholars” within the international academic community.
A program description, including application requirements and forms, can be found here (in German).
The application deadline is March 31, 2026.
